FEB 12 is the day which will create a history....thousands of sadhus (saints) belonging to Hinduism's biggest Akhara(holy groups of sadhus with different wings from sainthood to weapon holding soldiers)are going to take a dip in theBrahamkundin Har ki Pauri, Haridwar. This day is the most auspicious day in the Hindu religion as it's the Mahashivratri(known as the day on which lord Shiva gives power to each and every devotee ) of Mahakumbh.
The special alignment of stars and planets coming togather on this day
are observed after 535 years and such alignment of planets is
considered to be most sacred. This is the reason which makes the dip
taken into Ganges more holy. The saints are going to have the first
royal bath on this day. The procession and holy dip of these holy saint
& soldiers of akharas is known as Shahi snan.
The time of shahi snan would start from 8 am. The shahi procession of biggestjuna akhara would start at around 10 am from the famous Maya Devi temple. The naga sadhus(those
who doesn't wear anything and live a natural life in nature ) will be
leading the procession which will be followed by the saints, chief
saints(mahamandleshwar) and other devotees. The procession of juna akhara would be like a powershow of akhara(once in 12 years). This procession will have elephants, horses, buggies & raths, (chariots) special clothing and special themes as well. Juna akhara headed
by Swami Avdheshanand(aacharya mahamandleshwar) would march through the
upper market road in Haridwar and would pass through Mansa Devi
entrance and would reach Har ki Pauri at around 11 am. These would be
the most awaited moments for curious viewers around the world when
thousands of sadhu's are going to take a dip in the river Ganges. There
would be continues chanting of special Shiva mantra's known only to the special saints. The same way there would be march of Niranjaniand Mahanirvani akhara, at around 12 pm and 4pm respectivly.
